Signs of stress in cats

  • Ears flattened or turned sideways
  • Tail flicking, thrashing, or tucked tightly
  • Dilated pupils
  • Crouching low or trying to look smaller
  • Tense body or frozen posture

Behavior Changes

  • Hiding more than usual
  • Avoiding people or other animals
  • Aggression (hissing, swatting, biting)
  • Excessive grooming or fur loss
  • Litter box issues (going outside the box)

Vocalisation

  • Increased meowing or yowling
  • Growling or hissing
  • Sudden silence in normally vocal cats

Physical & Health Signs

  • Loss of appetite or overeating
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Lethargy or restlessness
  • Rapid breathing or panting
